In conjunction with its exhibition of visionary abstractions by Agnes Martin, Emma Kunz, and Hilma af Klint, the Drawing Center’s annex presents photographs and works on paper by Mohamedi (1937-90), an Indian artist rarely shown in this country. Mohamedi’s geometries are minimal and precise. A series of pencil-on-graph-paper images investigate minute differences in scale and value produced by different densities of line, while her black-and-white photographs examine abstracted fields—the threads in a loom, paving stones in a public square. It’s a lyrical modernism in extremely pared-down terms. Through May 21.
